29 I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.”

Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

The ancient texts show us that, from the very beginning, we are to see the importance of taking care of our earth.

Gary here . . .

This Labor Day

I want to particularly recognize those that have answered the call to care for trees, shrubs and gardens. Maintaining the extraordinary plant life that we have on earth beautifies and enriches our surroundings every day. It is a great and worthy calling to care for plants.

We also need to be mindful and grateful for the tens of thousands of other nameless faces who work tirelessly to provide our every need and keep us safe every day. This is likewise a worthy calling.

I also think of the great gardens and arboretums of the world where the wonder and beauty of plants has been collected and presented in special ways for our enjoyment.

So this Labor Day, all of us connected with the Green Pro Family of Companies want to thank you for the special ways you enrich our lives with your work.

Maybe this weekend is a good time to visit a local Arboretum or special Garden and congratulate yourself for what you do. It matters.
